How house sitting works for minders
To find you a suitable home to look after these are the basic steps:
Step 1 – Registration
Choose the method that’s best for you:
Register on-line
Simply fill out the registration form, include a brief description of your requirements, enter your credit card details and click the send button.
Registration by Fax
If you prefer, you can print out the registration form and fax us your details (complete with credit card details) to 1800 61 64 93.
Registration by Post
Customers who prefer post, or wish to pay by all methods can send their completed forms to;

Register with your local travel agent, vet or pet shop.
Simply complete the registration form and have your local travel agent, vet or pet shop forward it to us.
Step 2 – Discussing your specific needs
Once we receive your application form we will contact you to discuss any specifics with you and ask you some questions that our owners may have. We will also ask you to prepare any references and /or police check documents.
Step 3 – Finding you the right house sits
We will contact you directly (phone or email) when new assignments arise. We will let you know the suburb, duration of the stay, type and size of house and if there are any pets or special requirements. As we contact you directly the owner at this stage does not know who you are or have any of your contact or personal details.
Step 4 – The shortlist
Should you be interested in the assignment we then add you to our short list. At this point we discuss your profile with the owner. We also include either an email or contact number for them to contact you for an interview. In most cases we will also let you know approximately when you may be contacted.
Step 5 – The Interview
If you are contacted by the owner you may also meet them at a mutual location or generally their house. This is a standard process to introduce yourself and the owners to give you a walk through and introduce any pets. Generally any contracts / agreements are signed here.
At this point there has been little to minimal effort on your behalf.
Step 6 – Completion
Once you have completed the housesit we contact the owner to see how you went. We also keep a track record of all house minding assignments you complete with us and let our owners know your experience with us. This helps tremendously for future positions or even job references or rental references.
