Getting selected
Being selected for a houseminding assignment depends upon a range of factors. Given that the final decision is the owners, it is vital you put your best foot forward. Here are some hints on how you can present yourself as the perfect houseminder:
The Key Categories
There are several key categories on your registration form that are used when identifying suitable candidates. These are:
Area
These are the areas which are convenient to you. It is recommended that you be as flexible as possible, as the more areas you nominate the more you can be considered for.
Duration
Some assignments are short, others long. Minders who are the most flexible with duration of stays will be able to receive more assignments.
Availability
You will need to be available in order to be considered for selection.
Pet lover
Owners will want to know if you are compatible with their pets.
Green thumb
Some owners prefer a person with a love of gardens.
Homebody
Security conscious owners may prefer someone who’s around the place for most of the time, rather than at work or prefer you are at home after work than out every evening.
Your Registration Profile
Your profile is a micro resume which we use when discussing your credentials with our owners. Whilst it doesn’t need to be long, it does need to put you in the best light possible. We can help you out with making your profile. Here are some examples;
